From the sixties to the twenty-tens: Megan Remy aka U.S. Girls brings the girl group area to the sonic wastelands
Probably no one was expecting such a danceable track from U.S. Girls. This is definitely a step forward for her career; more accessible than before, but definitely also far more enjoyable. While remaining aesthetically lo-fi, in the video for ‘Damn That Valley’ she looks back at her own country and shows some badass anger against some of the most recognizable national icons. We don’t know whether she feels revengeful or just happily expatriated, but there is a lot for everyone to dig in this track.
