Heleen Peeters & Masayo Matsuda

7 April

This April we present the collaborative efforts of conceptual artists Heleen Peeters and Masayo Matsuda in our gallery space! The exhibitionThe Atlas Of Peter Schlemihl shows the pair’s extensive project based on an 1814 story that tells of the adventures of the man who sold his shadow to the devil.

Both artists use photography as creative starting point but do not limit themselves within the boundaries of the medium. They subvert the central dominance of the camera by stripping down the medium to its fundamental essentials, and expose it an instrument to capture colour, light and form; a tool to help harness everything that is ephemeral.
